K's Cake Smash

We finally had the pleasure of doing a cake smash! Our first victim, I mean client, was Miss K. It's hard to believe she is 1 year old already! We put the cake in front of her and she didn't know quite what to do. After some help from mom, she was soon covered in icing and bits of cake. We put some music on, and she really started jamming. Such a cutie and such a mess she made! Good job, K! Mom and I went upstairs to give her a bath and left Ed to clean most of the mess. Poor Ed! Here are some of our messiest and favorites from her session.

Jason and Jess

We met Jason a few months ago at our local B2B meetings. The day we met him, he told us he had a friend getting married and he would pass our card along. Now it's his turn to get married, and we will be shooting his wedding as well.

Jason and Jess are an adorable couple. We met them at their favorite spot in a back area of Nay Aug Park. We did some shots with the tree they got engaged under, and then moved to other areas.

Here are a few of our favorites from their session. Thanks again Jason and Jess! We can't wait for the wedding!

Caitie from Crestwood

I wanted to share some photos from a shoot we had last week. This is Caitie. She is a senior at Crestwood High. Very sweet girl. We were happy to have her, and honored that she drove almost an hour to get to us! Caitie had seen some shots of my daughter that we had done in her soccer uniform at night, and wanted that style. We LOVE different. So, that was right up our alley. Caitie is also a rep for us, so if you see her, ask her for a card. You will get 16 free wallets and she will earn some cash back.

Here are a few images from her session;

I didn't realize it had been so long since I updated. Lots of end of summer things going on. Hard to believe fall is here already. Kids are back to school. My niece has gone off to college. Soccer season has begun. The FC girls took second place in their Labor Day tournament, and I think are signing up to do some more.

We did well at the fair. Met some cool people. I think we also found some volunteers for some of the charities we do. Here are two of my favorite shots from the fair.

Angelina and Zack

I wanted to share an engagement session we did last week. This is a great couple, referred to us by our friend Jason, who by the way, is also getting married. We are his photographer as well.

We met them at Marywood College. This is where they met, and they may also be getting married in the chapel there.

We started with some fun shots near the cemetary and moved around to the chapel. We had loads of fun. I could not narrow the images down. I loved them all. You could really see the love between the two of them. I can not wait for their wedding in the spring. I know we are going to have a blast and get some great images!

Parties and Fairs - Goodbye summer

Sorry its been so long since I've updated our blog. This has been one crazy month. My daughter Jess, turned 16. This means permit test and driving lessons. She has also been released to play soccer again. It was a long road, but I knew she would do it. Thanks to the girls at Comprehensive Physical Therapy for making it fun for her. You don't know how glad I was that she was able to go with you. You made it fun for her, even though she was doing a lot of work. I know she is going to be back better than ever on the field. August also meant a big birthday party. With all the rain we've been getting, we decided to do an indoor party. we Set up the photo booth and let everyone take a turn. What a blast they had! The kids loved it. The adults loved it.

The following week we too the booth to my neice's graduation party. She is a freshman at Weidner. To send her off, we threw a party with all the family and friends. Everyone had a great time, and she had her scrapbook that everyone signed.

One week more we were called to photograph the grand opening of the new spa at the French Manor. What a beautiful place. The spa itself is gorgeous. I will be saving my pennies for a trip to the spa soon! Thanks to Genni and Bridget for calling us!

I guess that brings us to this week. The end of the summer. This was always such a bittersweet week for me growing up. It was the end of the summer, which meant GDS fair. My father was in the demolition derby every year. We would spend the summer helping him strip down his car, then we would paint it for him. There is a photo of all of us kids on and around each car, each summer, as I grew up. The fair was always great, but the fair also meant my friends were leaving for the winter. Our neighbors at the lake, old family friends for generations, would go home until the next summer. Oh the tears!

This week Ed and I have a booth at the GDS fair. I am really loving it. I love seeing all the small kids having so much fun. Its really bringing back a lot of memories for me. My friends from the lake, they can't be there this year. I have been updating my facebook as much as I can while we are sitting there, so they can still be there with me.
Thank you to all the old friends who have come out to see us so far this week. Thanks to all of our new friends we met this week. We hope to see you again.
