I have not written in a few days. I've been busy writing our newsletter. I got that mailed out, so if you were on our list, you should have it by now.

We also held my daugter's 16th birthday party this weekend. With all the rain we've been getting, I was afraid to set anything up outside, so we had to squeeze 50 people inside. Plus we had the photo booth set up. It ended up not raining, so the kids were able to swim and ride around outside on the golf cart. I didn't know it could hold that many people! I think they had 8 on it at one time.

Sunday we drove to Ed's brother's house to get some shots of his animals. 4 dogs, 3 horses, 9 birds that I counted, and I don't know how many cats. I didn't see any, but I know they are there somewhere.

On the way to his house, we saw a flea market with a pretty funky chair out front, so we had to stop and pick it up. We love the props that are unique!

So, that was our busy weekend. Yesterday was a catch-up day. Tonight we are meeting with a wonderful couple who gave us the pleasure of photographing their wedding. Tonight they come to see everything on the big screen.

New Friends

Tonight is going to be a quickie before I go to bed. Ed and I went door to door to different businesses today. We met a couple really cool people. We hope to be able to do this once a week to get out there and let people know who we are.

Tomorrow is a lot of getting ready for school. Going to the new high school to take a look at it. Then some back to school clothes shopping for the kiddos, which means I better get to bed.

Goodnight, everyone!

Poker Runs

Sunday we did a poker run for Tobyhanna Army Depot. Proceeds from this run went to Operation Santa Clause/Support the Troops. This was their first poker run. They ended up with over 100 bikes, so not bad for a first time. The weather cooperated in the fact that it didn't rain, but boy was it hot!

Photos from the run can be seen on our site. Go to the link for proofs.

Our next event is the Greene Dreher Sterling Fair from September 1-7. See you there!

Good news today

I took my daughter to the dr's today. Nothing bad. It was time for another check up on her knee. As of today she is cleared to play. For those of you who have been following, she tore her ACL playing soccer back in December and had surgery in February. It has been a tough 9 months for her. She missed her school season, opting for the surgery then, so she'd be ready for her travel team's fall season. It was tough to watch her sit on the sidelines and I know it was tough for her. I hope she's not gun shy when she starts back up, but knowing her, she won't be.

My friends Vangela and Pietra closed on their house today. None too soon either. She is due next month. Congrats to both of you!

We were also getting our plans together for our Open House. Lots of things in the works.

Our calendar is also starting to fill up for the fall. There are only about 3 or 4 weeks of nice color, so be sure to get your time booked.

Ed has also been hard at work updating our website. Be sure to visit and check out the new galleries.

Upcoming Events

This Sunday we will be at Tobyhanna for a Poker Run to benefit Operation Santa Claus/Support the troops. Registration begins at 8am at Electric Ciy Harley in Dickson City and ends at the picnic grounds in Tobyhanna.

The Super Saver ads came out today. The ad for our open house is in there. For any of you who did not see it, or don't get the Super Saver, our open house is Sept 13, from noon to 7pm. We will have the photo booth set up, along with doing mini sessions outside. There will be door prizes along with a chance to win other prizes, one of which is $100 in print credits.

We also found out today this week that we will be in the Greene Dreher Sterling Fair (GDS Fair). This fair runs from Sept 1 to Sept 7. If you have never been there, try to get there this year. I have gone to this fair as long as I can remember. It was always an end of summer thing. It meant the summer was over. Always bitter-sweet.

September 12 is a Poker Run for Youth For Christ. More details will follow. Just found out about this one today, along with a High Tea for Youth For Christ. This will be on October 17th.

October 2 from 6-9pm we will be at St Luke's church in Scranton for First Friday. This is a free event. October's theme is Pets. Come check out the pet art. Last year they had animals for adoption and the dancing dogs. Pets are welcome!

November 13th we will again be photographing the Ball of Hope for the American Cancer Society at the Scranton Cultural Center. This is a great excuse to get dressed up and go out.
Dinner is phenominal. There is also dancing, lots of raffle baskets, and of course us. Great way to help a great charity.

If you would like any information on any of these events, please shoot us an email or give us a call.

Families

Tonight's entry will probably be short. This weekend was my family reunion. So, I didn't do much working.

We did get to meet with a wonderful couple, who booked us to do their wedding. Antiqua and Tyrone. I am really excited to do their wedding, where ever it may end up being. They seem like such a fun couple.

If anyone knows of a venue on a shore line that will hold 150 people and let the couple provide their own caterer, let me know.

Im off to bed. My son told me he'd make me pancakes in the morning. What a good kid!

Michelle

Last night, Michelle, from Holy Cross High School came up to get her senior portraits done. We did a ton of outdoor shots along with some really cool indoor ones. Michelle was a lot of fun and pretty open to anything we wanted to do. How could we not get killer shots of her? We ended up staying up most of the night to get them all done.

If you go to Holy Cross, or play soccer with or know Michelle, be sure to get one of her senior rep cards off her. Senior rep cards get you 16 free wallets.

Designing Fools

Seniors of 2010. Do you know one? Are you one? Call this week to book a session, bring your friend with you. You will get both sessions for the price of one! Offer expires Aug 9.

This week we are working on getting all of our marketing materials together. Our lab came out with some really great new items, so we are trying to decide which one to sell, which ones to use for marketing. This all means designing. Designing flyers, websites, business cards, samples, booklets etc. A person can only be so creative! But, this all means samples will be coming in. I LOVE getting samples from our lab! It feels like Christmas! So, back to designing so I have more packages!

Pocono Raceway

So, we headed out Thursday morning to go to Pocono for the weekend. There were 10 of us in the bus, my aunt and uncle from Erie joined us in their motorhome Friday. These were my first 4 days off since April when we went to Oklahoma.

This year they had fireworks on Saturday night, and a bluegrass concert in the infield. Pretty cool! Lots more vendor tents, bounce houses and slot cars, for the kids. Very cool. Seems like they are getting more infield fan friendly every year.

The race got rained out Sunday. We packed up and headed home. Some had to be back to work for Monday, so, the bus came home.

Photos posted are just random activities going on in our campsite over the weekend. Enjoy!
